Prayers for Charleston

This won't be my usual photography post.

I know it has been a couple of days since the shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina but my thoughts and prayers are still with all the individuals involved.
Above being a photographer, a mother, and wife I am a woman of faith.  As member of New Beginning Pentecostal Church it saddens me to see such a horrible act of hatred.  This was not only an act of hatred against African Americans but also the Christian church.
It is truly sad to see that during the 21st century we are still experiencing such horrible acts.  A church should be a place of refuge, a place to find peace from this crazy world we are living in not a place where you would encounter murderers.
I am afraid that this event is going to keep people from the church.  If you listen closely to the  news, Christians are being prosecuted daily for their faith.
Where did the love go?
Was there ever any love to begin with?
We live in a society where gays are finding freedom against persecution,  drugs are being accepted more and more but as a Christian you have to live in fear.  Fear of traveling because you never know who you are going to encounter, fear of being proud of being a Christian, and now fear of even entering the house of God.
All that is left to do is pray...
Pray that God would fill us with understanding to be able to continue our path of faith even when confused with current events.  Prayers for strength to endure all the prosecutions to come.  Prayers for hope and love.  May God put a protective covering over His church.
